10,500 Seater Cricket Stadium announced to be built in Atlanta

Cricket is seriously on the rise in the US at the moment and plans are expanding fast to keep that growth going.

Plans have been unveiled by Atlanta developer Setig Enterprises, for a 10,500 seater cricket stadium to be built in Atlanta which is expandable to 25,000, according to a report on CricBuzz. It has been planned across a 45-acre site along the I-85 corridor, the stadium is to be a multi-purpose sports and hospitality hub inspired by Southampton's Rose Bowl. The design plan reveals that there will be twin grandstands, two luxury hotels, and several restaurants, catering to international and domestic cricket needs.

The project is due to cost $50 million dollars, and it part of a larger $100 million dollar development for the area. It has been predicted that the stadium will be finished in early 2027. "This isn't just about cricket. This is an ecosystem that we're creating, a world class stadium designed for international competition, a boutique hotel for players, visitors and event guests, a vibrant sports bar where fans gather to cheer, eat and celebrate, retail, recreation, community events all orbiting around the beating heart of the venue," said Keval Patel, CEO and President of LaGrange Cricket Holdings. "This is cricket and so much more, with matches that will bring in thousands."

According to the report, the stadium is expected to host both international matches and professional league cricket upon its completion in the first quarter of 2027.

TVS Design, the company heading up the architecture are globally acclaimed for projects like Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium and Mumbai's Jio World Centre. Once this stadium is ready it'll feature plug and play infrastructure, allowing broadcast ready tournaments from day one - a move that Patel says will significantly cut logistical and setup expenses for cricket and concert organisers alike.
