World Championship of Legends 2025 - Preview

The World Championship of Legends is in it’s second year since it’s inauguration in 2024, in which India Champions beat Pakistan Champions by five wickets to claim the first ever WCL trophy. This year the games will be played in, Birmingham, Northampton, Leicester and Leeds.

Fast forward to today, 22nd July and the tournament has begun with Pakistan and South Africa starting with wins against England and West Indies respectively.

Our very own Liam Plunkett is back in the UK and has been picked by England Legends to play in this year’s WCL, he started off well taking two wickets in his first match vs Pakistan, but the team couldn’t quite get the win. After England’s game against Australia Champions got rained off on Saturday, they will be looking to claim their first victory of the tournament vs West Indies Legends at 12:30PM BST today. With the England Champions squad featuring Liam Plunkett alongside other strong names such as Eoin Morgan, Moeen Ali and Sir Alistair Cook they will hope they have a good chance of doing just that.

In a league table of six, the top four teams will head to a play-off semi-final with the two winners of those games moving on to play in the WCL final, to then see who will take the crown.

Aside from the England game, the other game taking place today is South Africa Champions vs India Champions in Northampton, that game starts at 4:30PM BST
