James Anderson Receives Knighthood after Record Breaking Career

James Anderson, England's leading test wicket taker has received his knighthood for his service to England Cricket.

The 43 year old, who retired from test cricket last July received his knighthood at Windsor Castle by Anne, Princess Royal.

Anderson does of course still play for his county side Lancashire, and is in talks of extending his contract by a year for the 2026 season.

When former Prime Minister named his resignation honours list last year, Anderson was the only sportsperson named on the list and has now joined former teammates Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss in being knighted.

Anderson has been a master of swing and seam bowling for England having started his international career in May 2003 and has the second most test appearances ever, behind India's Sachin Tendulkar. Alongside the appearances, the 43 year old has taken 704 wickets, the most by a seamer in test history.

Congratulations James from everyone at LPC on a wonderful international cricket career and for your knighthood!
